With more pressure being placed on surgeries to be open longer in the day and at weekends, surgeries in a local area may agree to share resources rather than increase existing staff numbers. If each surgery wishes to remain independent (a non-multisite deployment) then the Medic-Call Cloud Call Service allows the surgery’s calls to be routed via a centralised service. This service will, by time-of-day and day-of-week, route the patient to the open surgery automatically. Having a centralised solution is more efficient than each surgery re-forwarding calls via their local phone lines. The centralised service can deliver calls to each open surgery either, as a traditional phone call, or alternatively ‘on-net’, avoiding any call charges.
